IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN I Nathan Wren of Sussex County and Parish of Albemarle being agoing to leave this province do make this my last Will and Testament in the following manner to wit. IMPRIMIS I give and bequeath to my dear brother Jesse Wren one negroe girl namely Patt & my bay horse Trump one smooth bore gun and one Rifle also my land and plantation, if it is my fathers will it is mine. ITEM. I give and bequeath to my dear sister Huldah Wren one gray horse or his value in money to be made out of my personal estate. ITEM. I give and bequeath to my dear sister Molly Weathers ten pounds current money of Virginia to be made out of my estate. ITEM. I give and bequeath to my dear cousin Sally Wren five pounds current money of Virginia to be made out of my estate. ITEM. I give and bequeath to my dear loving father one negroe fellow namely Jack & my sorrel colt Wilks. ITEM. And the over plus of my estate to be equally divided amongst my five sisters, namely Hannah Porch, and Sarah Bendall, Anna Porch, Huldah Wren and Molly Weathers, after paying first my debts and legacies. LASTLY I do hereby constitute and appoint my father Thomas Wren and Jesse Williamson whole and sole Executors to this my last Will and Testament. IN WITNESS where unto I have set my hand and seal this 23d day of March 1777. Nathan Wren (seal) Published and delivered in presence of us} Robert Parham John Berryman Junr. At a Court held for Sussex County the 21st day of August 1777. The afore written last Will and Testament of Nathan Wren deced. was presented into Court by Thomas Wren the Executor therein named who made oath thereto as the law directs and the same was proved by the oaths of Robert Parham and John Berryman Junr. the witnesses thereto and by the Court ordered to be recorded, and on motion of the said Executor Certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate thereof in due form.
