This file was contributed by: Christie Canfield ==================================================================== In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Wrenn of the Parish of Albemarle and County of Sussex being of a sound mind and memory do make and ordain this my last Will and testament in manner following Imprimes I give and bequeath to my son Jesse Wrenn the Plantation and tract of Land whereon I now live also the tract of Land whereon my said Son now lives Containing two hundred Acres (more or less, likewise one Negro Boy named Jerry one Negro Girl named Frankey, one Grindstone and one Pair of Steelyards also sundry Articles of Household Furniture and Stock which I have heretofore put him in Possession of, to him and his Heirs and Assigns forever ------ Item I give to my Son in Law Henry Porch one Negro Woman named Phoebe together with all the other estate I have formerly put him in Possession of ----- Item I give and bequeath to my Daughter Sarah Bendall one Negro Man named Cupid & one Negro woman named Lydia which said Negroes She hath now in Possession I also give her the Several Articles I have heretofore put her in Possession of ----- ----- Item I give and bequeath to my Daughter Ann Porch two Negroes namely Dedan & Tiller likewise all the other estates I have heretofore put her in Possession of ------ Item I give and bequeath to my Daughter Huldah Adams two Negroes namely Surry and Sukey likewise all the other estate I have heretofore put her in possession of— Item I give and bequeath to my Daughter Mary Weathers two Negroes namely Peter and Judy likewise all the estate I have heretofore put her in possession of ---- Item I give and bequeath Grand Daughter Polly Porch one Feather Bed & furniture – Item I leave all the Rest and residue of my estate to be Sold and the Money arising therefrom to be devided Between my Son Jesse and my Daughters Sarah, Ann, Huldah, and Mary & the Children of my Daughter Hannah Porch to have and Sixth part of Said remainder to be equally divided between them and their Heirs And Lastly I do nominate and appoint my Son Jesse Wrenn whole and Sole Executor of this my last Will and testament and desire that my Estate may not be appraised – In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and affixed my Seal this twenty fifth day of March One Thousand Seven hundred and Ninety three Signed Seald & Published & declared o be the last Will } Thomas Wren (Seal) and Testament of the testator in Presence of ------- Henry Moss Gabriel Moss Fredk Penington At a Court held for Sussex County the 12th July 1793 The Testament and last Will of Thomas Wrenn decd was presented in Court by Jesse Wrenn the exor therein named was proved by the Oaths of Henry Moss & Gabriel Moss two of the Witnesses thereto and Ordered to be Recorded And on motion of said Exor who with William Massonburg and Joel Hall his Securities entered into Bond under the Penalty of two thousand pounds Conditioned as the Law directs whereupon Certificate of the probate therof is granted him in due form -------- Teste Examnd M Bailey CSC Sussex County, VA Will Book E, pgs 209, 210 FHLC #34157
