James Hager to Hardy Fortner
This Indenture made this 23rd day of August 1832 between James Hager of Logan
County Virginia and Hardy Fortner of Tazewell & state aforesaid. Withesseth that
for the consideration of fifty dollars the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged hath bargained & sold unto the said Hardy Fortner one certain tract
of land containing 75 acres more or less lying on the Camp fork of Wolf Creek &
bounded as follows to wit: Beging (sic) at three white oaks & a dogwood on a
very rocky hill side S27E 140 poles crossing the fork to a stake & thence S50W
with lines of said survey so far as will include the said 75 acres at the east
end of the said survey of 150 acre survey patented to Jackob Hager. Together
with the appurtenances thereunto belonging the said James Hager for himself his
heirs & assigns & the said tract of land to the said Hardy Fortner his heirs &
assigns & against the lawful claims of himself & his heirs & all persons
claiming under him will forever Warrant & defend. In witness whereof the said
James Hager hath hereunto set his hand & seal the above date. James Hager

Virginia In the County Court of Tazewell March Term 1833. This Indenture of
bargain and sale from James Hager to Hardy Fortnor was proven in court by
Solomon Lambert, Peter Dills, William Suter, Witness thereto & ordered to be
recorded.
