Whitt, Jonas Whitt to Thomas Brown This Indenture made this 17th day of August 1849 between John B. Whitt, Jonas Whitt and Mildred his wife of Floyd and Greenup Counteys in the state of Kentucky of the one part and Thomas Brown of the County of Tazewell State of Virginia of the other part witnesseth that the said John B. Whitt, Jonas Whitt and Mildred his wife in consideration of twenty five dollars to them in hand paid by the said Thomas Brown at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged bargained and sold by these presents do and each of them doth bargain and sell unto the said Thomas Brown his heirs and assigns two sevenths of two several tracts of land or parcels of land containing three hundred and forth three acres of land be same more or less lying and being in the County of Tazewell and State of Virginia on Dismal a branch of the Louisa fork of Sandy and bounded as followeth. Whitt, Jonas Whitt, and Mildred his wife for themselves and their heirs will forever warrant and defend the aforesaid two sevenths of the aforesaid tracts or parcels of land unto the Thomas Brown and his heirs forever in witness whereof the said John B. Whitt and Jonas Whitt and Mildred his wife have hereunto set there hands and affixed their seals the day and year first above written. John B. Wasmock Justices of the peace for the county aforesaid in the state aforesaid do hereby certify Jonas Whitt party to a certain deed bearning date 17th August 1849 and hereunto answered personally appeared before us in the county aforesaid and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed and desired usto certify his said acknowledgment to the clerk of the County of Tazewell in Virginia in order that said deed may be recorded.
