TAZEWELL COUNTY, VA - NEWSPAPERS - Bluefield Daily Telegraph, 14 Sep 1902 ----¤¤¤---- Bluefield Daily Telegraph Bluefield Mercer Co WV Sunday, September 14, 1902 CUT DEEP GASH IN HIS FACE Young Man Used a Knife on Sam Tabor Yesterday. A cutting affray, the cause for which is quite a mystery, occurred yesterday afternoon. For some reason R. S. Mills, a young man about twenty years of age, visited the home of S. J. Tabor, in the west end and with a pocket knife laid Mr. Tabor's right cheek open from the eye to his chin. Mr. Tabor says the attack was unprovoked and that the young man was under the influence of liquor at the time. Mills was arrested Mr. Tabor's wounds are not serious. The gash, however, was so deep that Mr. Tabor's teeth could be seen. [I am unaware of the parents of this Sam J. Tabor].
