Harry was Isaiah Henderson Harry married Meldora Moore Tabor, d/o John Andrew Tabor and his first, of three wives, Martha A. Compton). …………. Your type last week made us say "hand" instead of head" in reporting the injury sustained by Rupert Allen at the Quarry. …………… Our Asst. P. M. request us to say that he has just retired from the literary field, therefore, his book on the usefulness will not appear. (Since Alexander ‘Alex’ Waltham Tabor, s/o Amos H. Tabor & Cynthia McPherson was the Assistant Postmaster during this time and in many previous articles Alex was kidded due to being a bachelor I assume they are talking about Alex Tabor). ……………….. Mrs. R. M. Page and children, of Richmond, Va, are visiting Mr. A. Mabry, of this place. (This might have been a reference to an Alford Mabra/Mabry who was b. Jan 1876 in NC. In 1900 Alford Mabra/Mabry was living with his wife, Lula B. The Mabra/Mabry’s were in the home of George Britton , b. Nov 1852 in OH.. This family lived in the Falls Mills, Tazewell Co., VA area ). ………………………………… We are sorry to report Mrs. F. D. Moring, of Yards, on the sick list. (sic), 5/12-5 months, b. Dec 1899 in VA …………………… Mrs. Sallie A. Crockett will move to the farm owned by her son-in-law, W. W. Shelton , and W. E. Dudley will move into the house vacated by Mrs. Crockett. (W. E. Dudley ? I BELIEVE to have been William E. Dudley the son of Hugh D. Dudley & Mary Jane Shuffleberger). …………………… A small child of John Sarvers got hold of a box of concentrated lye and got its mouth and hands badly burned. (I BELIEVE to be John Henry Sarver who was married to Maude Irene Neel as they lived close.-Does anyone know the parents of Maude Irene Neel? Walton’s stock farm Maj. B. Walton returned last Monday from a business trip to his works at Elkins, W, Va. ………………. P. W. Wagner and C. J. Hale have each purchased a new buggy.
