Mr James Halley, of Italy, was in the village last Sunday. (Surname later changed to Hawley. James L. Hawley married Martha Ann Tabor, d/o Andrew Jackson Tabor-killed in Civil War and Juliana Belcher. Italy ,near Falls Mills) MR. WOT COMPTON is visiting at Clover Bottom this week. (I do not recognize the name of endearment) Among our visitors last week were MR. and MRS. C. R. HARRY, of Roanoke, Va., JOHN W. WADE, OF Peytona, W. Va., MR. and MRS. A. L. CARTER, of Springville, MR. and MRS. A. A. CARTER of Bluestone, and I. H. HARRY, of Falls Mills; all of whom were brothers and sisters to J. R. HARRY of this place. (C. R. Harry ?I BELIEVE to be CHARLES R. HARRY s/o Jon Harry and his third wife, Margaret E. Dedmons ?There was also a son Calvin by the first wife, of John Harry, Mary-I do not know her surmane John W. Wade -I AM completely LOST! Was this a son of one of John Harryu’s wives? I know John W. Wade, b. abt. 1858, s/o Joshua & Margaret Wade, was married 24 Feb 1880 in Boone Co., WV., to Nancy J. Gillespie, b. abt. 1852 in Boone Co VA/WV. Nancy J. Gillespie, d/o Samuel H. Gillespie, b. Kanawha Co VA/WV, abt. 1821 & Mary Jane Curtis. Samuel H. Gillespie’s parents were Samuel Gillespie, b. Bath Co., VA and Mary Jane McElwa/McElwee who were married in 1820. There were Belchers/Gillespie/Tabors/Waggoners in Boone Co VA/WV. Mr. & Mrs. A. L. Carter, not certain of A. L. Carter’s parents. Martha A. (Harry) Carter, d/o John Harry and second wife, Caroline E. McGranahan (sic). Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Carter, Albert Alexander ‘Alex’ Carter, s/o Solomon Neece Carter & Susannah Mariah ‘Susan’ Carter (Maiden name was also Carter), and Cynthia B. P. Harry, d/o John Harry and third wife, Margaret E. (Dedmons) Wade. I. H. Harry, s/o Isaiah Henderson Harry, s/o John and third wife, Margaret E. (Dedmons) Wade. I. H. Harry married Meldora Moore Tabor, d/o John Andrew Tabor and first wife, Martha A.
