Prohibition officers, McGraw and McGlothlin, captured another still on Friday near Bearwallow, they also got ten gallons of corn whiskey. These officers have captured 95 stills since they took the work over in April. Dr. W. R. Williams, wife and daughter, Miss Mary, spent the weekend in Richmond as the guest of their sons. Mrs. Eli Griffith continues to be very ill at her home on Tazewell St. E. K. Hurt was slightly injured on Monday evening, when his car skidded on the slippery road near Cedar Bluff into the Cliff. P. B. Steele, manager for the A & P store here, was called to Belfast Tuesday on account of the death of his grandfather, B. F. Bundy. R.E. Duff and Mr. and Mrs. I. T. Jessee motored to Bluefield Sunday where they heard the U.S. Band. J. B. Crabtree was a business visitor to Tazewell Tuesday. Huffard Pruitt spent Saturday and Sunday with relative in Pounding Mill. M. Greenberg left Sunday night for Richmond to attend the Masonic Lodge which is to be held there on Tuesday. On Thursday he will go to Philadephia to spend a few weeks vacation with his neices and Nephews, also while away he will visit the northern markets. The mother of A. E. Swingle, superintendent of the Hill Creek Coal Company, died at her home in Johnson City, Friday night from complicated troubles due to old age, she being 75 years old. Mr. Swingle left on Friday morning reaching Johnson City a short time before his mother died. Funeral and burial was in Johnson City on Sunday. H.V. Lindsey, cashier of First National Bank, and Dr. A Del Castillo, attended the funeral and burial of Mrs. Swingle at Johnson City Sunday.
