John M. Burch, grandfather of Mrs. W. T. Blanks, of Pocahontas, observed his 100th birthday on Feb 14th. He served in the Confederate army and took part in 260 engagements. The home of Grat Bourne at Gratton was destoyed by fire on Saturday.
