Miss Higgins will start for her home at Orange Sunday. Miss Lewis will remain at Springville to teach music. W.C. Hale and John Harry, of Falls Mills, spent Sat. and Sun with friends here. Sidney Bane made a business trip to St. Paul this week. Erastus Leffel, of Clear Fork is assisting J.H. Summers in the repairing of the Graham and Tazewell exchange line. Miss Virgie Tickle entertained a party of friends Saturday evening. All reports a nice time. W.W. Hale is home again from the Bluefield sanitarium, after having a slight surgical operation. A party was given at the home of J.H. Summers Saturday evening in honor of Miss Lewis and Higgins. Refreshments were served and all present had a delightful time. Miss Victoria Tabor is very ill at this writing. Miss Virginia Summers, who has been teaching at Falls Mills returned home on Wed. of this week. ------- The contract was closed yesterday whereby H.G. Peery, Esq. regains possession of his valuable farm west of town which he recently sold to Mr. C.H. Reynolds for about $50,000. It is understood that Mr. Reynolds will move back to his farm on Cavatt's Creek. Squire Peery and his wife are at Present at Eustis, Fla. where they have spent the winter, but will return to Tazewell in a short while. The transfer of the property back to Mr. Peery was amicably and satisfactorily adjusted, the reasons therefore however and other particulars have not been made public. ------- SHAWVER'S MILL Shawvers Mill, March 8 - Mr. and Mrs. Z.P. Belcher visited Mr. and Mrs. S.A. Leffel last Sunday. Mr. George Gregory has been very sick at his home with Bright's disease, but he is some better now. Mr. F.E. Reynolds, after spending a month with Mr. and Mrs. D.A. Leffel returned home lost Thursday. Mrs. Leedy, of Hicksville, is spending the winter with her daughter, Mrs. J.W. Shufflebarger, at this place. The Sunday school at the Christian church will be reorganized the 4th Sunday in the month. Everybody is invited to attend and take a part in the organization. Mrs. A.B. Leffel, who has been on the sick list for the past two weeks is some better. Mr. John Anderson who has been confined to his room for several weeks with grip is able to be out. BAILEY Bailey, March 10 - Mrs. C.A. Wagner and little daughter, Lena, are visiting Mrs. E.N. Williams at Eggleston, Mrs. Wagner being called there to see her new grandson. E.M. Wagner, of Vivian, visited homefolks Sunday. Mrs. Mollie Wells spent Sat. and Sun. with the Misses Wagner. Mrs. J.H. Wagner has returned home after spending sometime with her parents in Franklin County. Miss Lillie Wagner, who has been indisposed for several days, is much better. Mrs. James Durham Tiller, who had a very severe attack of St. Vitus Dance is improving. Mr. James Tiller is very low with typhoid fever. Rosa, the little daughter of C.A. Wagner, has been quite ill for several days. Mr. and Mrs. Brown Wagner, of Greenville WV, have been spending sometime with their son, Ernest, who has been very ill with appendicitis at the Bluefield sanitarium. The also visited E.G. Wagner, while in this vicinity. Mr. Luther Carr returned to Dante Monday after a short visit home. Miss Susie Higgins and Mr. Ed. Wagner, Miss Jennie Wagner and Harvey Ashworth were out riding Sunday. Miss Susie Higgins of Orange, who has been teaching on Bluestone, is the guest of Miss Ella Wagner. Miss Higgins has made many friends while here who will regret her departure. Miss Annie Nash was the guest of the Misses Wagner on Sat and Sun last. Mr. J.P. Wagner, who has been very ill, called on friends in Springville Sunday afternoon. His many friends are glad to see him out again. Miss Lillie Lewis, who has been teaching on Bluestone, went to Springville Sunday to teach music in home of J. H. McMullin. Miss Mamie Bane, a charming young lady of Narrows, who has been teaching at Springville, left for her home yesterday to the great sorrow of her friends. Messrs. Harvey and Paris Ashworth, Sam and Willie McMullin and Chap Wallace were calling at the home of Mr. C.A. Wagner Sunday. COVE CREEK Cove Creek, March 8 - Misses Lizzie and Ella Compton spent Friday night at G.W. Stowers. C.P. Campton who has rheumatism, has been suffering very much these past snowy and rainy days. Miss Della Stowers, who has been visiting her father at Bluefield, for the last two weeks, has returned home. -----
