HALE, of Falls Mills, was here on business Wednesday. Mrs. W.W. MYERS is ill at her home on lower Tazewell avenue, suffering from an attack of pneumonia. Mrs. V.L. STEPHENSON has been ill for several days at her home on Tazewell avenue. She is reported as being some better today. Mr. and Mrs. Pressley THOMAS, of Greensboro, North Carolina, were in Tazewell Sunday as guests of the CECIL family on Fincastle Pike. W.L. and Mrs. PAINTER are at Ft. Lauderdale, Florida having left Tazewell as son as the cold weather passed. Mr. and Mrs. Will Tom GILLESPIE left Tuesday morning for Hot Springs, Ark., where Mr. GILLESPIE will received treatment for a muscular affection. Mrs. BUNTS, wife of the former well known Tazewell pastor, spent the weekend in Tazewell as guest of her sister, Mrs. Will Ed PEERY. Mrs. J.M. CRUISE left this week for Hot Springs, Ark., where she will join her husband, J.M. CRUISE who has been there for several weeks receiving treatment for rheumatism. Mrs. T.W. ZINK has returned to her home in Tazewell from Staunton, where she has been visiting her daughter, Mrs. Eddy and family. News comes to town that Mr. and Mrs. W.W. MOORE have wintered well in their home in Johnson City, Tenn. They are former residents of Tazewell and have many friends here. Miss Willie Helen CRUISE, Home Management Supervisor of the Farm Security Administration, of Tazewell, is resting comfortably after an appendectomy performed at 2:30 am, Wednesday at the Mattie Williams Hospital at Richlands. Mrs. J. Marvin RATCLIFF, of Bluefield, West Virginia, is very ill in the St. Lukes hospital, having undergone a major operation. Mrs. RATCLIFFE was formerly Miss Luralice HASH, of North Tazewell. The condition of Walter BEAVERS remains about the same. Mr. BEAVERS has been ill for several months at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Henry TOMLINSON on Tazewell avenue. Officers in Clinch Valley Commandery are to be installed next Monday night, the regular meeting. It is hoped that a Knights Templar team from Marion, Virginia can be present. All Sir Knights are asked to be present. Wear your uniform. The Liberty Hill 4-H Club met at the home of Mrs. W.D. BUNDY last week, with the leader, Mrs. Hugh HUMPHREY in charge. A number of visitors were present, among them being Mrs. Mary Kiser PEERY, of the Appalachian Power Co. The club discussed various topics of interest, particularly the best way to care for the surplus on the farm. Miss Katherine SEXTON, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. V.L. SEXTON, of Graham, and Mr. Aaron RUSS, Jr. of Tazewell, were married at the Baptist parsonage in Tazewell last Friday afternoon by the Rev. W.S. JONES. The attendants were Mr. and Mrs. W.F. HARMAN, Jr. Mr. and Mrs. RUSS will make their home in Bluefield. Mr. RUSS is traveling salesman for the Imperial Ice Cream Company's Bluefield branch. Barrow-Stowers Co. and Dr. M.B. CROCKETT still have the Buick Agency and will continue the business at Dr. CROCKETT'S building at Tazewell as usual. Public invited to inspect the 1940 car. POUNDING MILL The Rev. Lee HILL, Methodist minister, preached here Sunday night. Rev. Curtis JONES, of the Christian church, will preach here Sunday night. Rev. Curtis HANKS, Church of God minister, preached Saturday and Sunday nights at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jess LAMBERTS. Mrs. N.T. TURNER and Mr. and Mrs. Dan TURNER, of Princeton, West Virginia, visited Mr. and Mrs. L.W. RINGSTAFF and Mr. and Mrs. S.T. SPARKS, Sunday. Those on the sick list are Mrs. James MULKEY, Mrs. James JOHNSON, Miss Gladys JOHNSON, who has returned from the Mattie Williams hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Carl JOHNSON, of Big Stone Gap and Mrs. Alyse MAYNARD, of Raven, visited Mr. and Mrs. James JOHNSON Friday. Post office has been moved into the new odd fellows hall, Mr. and Mrs. C.H. ROBINETTE and son, David, live in adjoining rooms. Mrs. W.B. STEELE returned on Monday from a three days visit with her daughter, Mrs. John B. GILLESPIE at Cedar Bluff. Misses Marie and Hazel HILT spent weekend at their home in Tannersville. Mrs. Jess WOODS returned to the Mattie Williams hospital Monday. Henry, the 11 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur LEWIS, is ill and out of school. Several of the Methodist missionary women are attending the missionary meeting this pm at the home of Mrs. J.R. MAXWELL at Maxwell. Mrs. Alfred PILKINS has returned from the Mattie Williams hospital.
