Benbow, Va., July 28,
MRS. J. L. MATHEWS (sic) , who has been ill  weeks is slowly improving
(Elizabeth ‘Eliza’ Sanders, second wife of J. LEWIS Matthews).

MR. W. D. MATHEWS (sic), the carpenter from Graham, spent a few hours
with his friends last week.
(I Believe to be Walter Doak Matthews, b. Feb 1883, s/o J. Lewis
Matthews and his first wife Virginia-I do not know her surname).

MISS ROSE WITTEN gave a social on last Friday night, and there was a
large number of young people present. In the guessing contest  MISS
SUSIE CREGAR and MR. A. F. MATHEWS (sic), won the prize.
Susan A. Cregar, d/o  Joseph Cregar &  Nannie C. Harris. Albert Frazier
Matthews, s/oJ. Lewis Matthews and his first wife, Virginia).

BLUESTONE

Bluestone, Va., July 29
MRS. WILL DUNCAN is visiting her mother, MRS. CHARLOTTE NASH.
(Mrs. Charlotte Nash is Charlotte Ann Tiller, wife of, George Washington
Nash but I do not know which daughter married Will Duncan).

MRS. R. B.  TABOR and MRS. E. E. HALE spent part of last week with
relatives in Tip Top.
(Mrs. Russell B. Tabor who was  Elizabeth Compton and her daughter Mrs.
Elias Edward Hale who was Mary Ellen Tabor).
