James Thompson, stationed at Norfolk, was a Tazewell visitor last week. Mrs. Watson of Ohio has been visiting her sister Mrs. Troy Johnson, of Pisgah. Mrs. George VanLear is visiting Dr. VanLears sister, Mrs. T. L. Goff at Lakehurst NC. Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Nidiffer and their daughter left this week for Flint, Mich. where they will visit Mrs. Nidiffer's brother Geo. Edmonds and family. Miss Nancy Beach, of Gary WV. spent the weekend in Tazewell as the guest of the Misses Witten on Pine Street. Mrs. H.L. Butler, formerly of Tazewell, now a resident of Beckley WV is a guest of Mrs. W. D. Seebert. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Buston, Jr. and family will move shortly into the home of the late Dr. Pierce on Main Street. Dick Kelly, who has recently returned from navy duty overseas, is in Tazewell as the guest of his parents Mr. and Mrs. Richard M. Kelly. Lt. (j.g) Oscar George, stationed in Penn has been here this week as the guest of his mother Mrs. W.O. George. Mrs. Martin Martin is ill in the Mattie Williams hosptial. Her condition Thursday morning was reported as being improved. Harry R. Turner has returned to the Navy receiving station in Norfolk va. after spending a few days with his wife and son, Mrs. H. R. Turner, formerly Miss Frances Bowling of Tazewell Dr. (Sergeant) Lawrence Painter, of Orange Va. was visiting his mother Mrs. W. I. Painter in Tazewell last week. Cpl. Giles M. Lambert, of Shawver Mill, has graduated from the Seymours Johnson Field in Goldsboro NC. He is continuing school at Chanute Field, Ill. He is proud to be a member of Uncle Sam's Air Corps. Guests last week in the home of Mr. and Mrs. H.F. Ireson, North Tazewell were the sons, Capt. Charles S. Ireson, Mrs. Ireson and their children, of Camp Davis, N.C. and Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Ireson, of Williamson WV. J.H. Hardy Jr. has returned to his home from a Bluefield hospital where he had an appendix operation. He didn't recover as quickly as expected due to complications. He is resting at home in Graham. Miss Minnie Sparks, of Washington DC. has been in Tazewell this week as the guest of friends and relatives. Miss Sparks is employed by the Federal Radio Communications.
