Mr. K. D. R. Harman and Miss Mollie Ireson were so quiet in the preparation for their nuptails that few of their friends were aware of what was about to happen until Rev. J.N Harman had made them man and wife on the evening of the first. The case of Bill Davis, found guilty of murder in the first degree, will be taken to a higher court. In the trial of this case Judge Miller, of Wise county, presided in place of Judge Coulling and refused to set aside the verdict. Our friend Rev. John E. Naff, was appointed by the Bishop, at the late conference of the Methodist chruch, to this, the Jefferson station. He is one of the nicest men in the conference and one of the few who could follow the popular D. Vance Price. The Advance has received notification that a very important event in the lives of two most estimable residents of the picturesque town of Pocahontas will occur at the Graham Inn, Graham Tazewell Co, today, which is no less than the marriage of Miss Mattie S. Dillon, daughter of Hon P.P. Dillon, mayor of Pocahontas, and Mrs. M.L. Sowers, a prominent business man of that place. The bride is one of the best known and most amiable belles in the Southwest, and the circle in which she moved will miss her familiar face and cheery companionship, but have he consolations of knowing that she wedded one worthy of her love and confidence.
