KNIGHT News has reached here by sisters and relatives of the death of MRS. WILLIAM KNIGHT in Red Stone, Montana. MRS. KNIGHT, was on her way to Glasgow, near by, to visit some of her children and had stopped to undergo treatment for an infected arm. Upon leaving the doctor’s office, MRS. KNIGHT, opened the wrong door and plunged headlong down a flight of stairs, sustaining a fractured skull, broken arms and other injuries. She never regained consciousness. She is survived by her husband, nine children, fifteen grand children, and her aged father, F. P. RUTHERFORD, of North Tazewell, her mother died October 18, 1903, and her brother John died August 7, 1915. She is also survived by five sisters, MRS. B. L PECK, of Gratton, MRS. J. H. HELDRETH, of Tazewell, and MRS. W. C. KITTS, of Bluefield, Va., MRS. JOHN WHITT, of Bluefield, Va., and three brothers, CHARLEY , of North Tazewell, MARVIN, of North Tazewell, and LUTHER, of Bluefield. MR. and MRS. KNIGHT and family left Virginia on 1906 for Montana. (Mrs. Knight was Mary J. Rutherford, d/o Feldon P. Rutherford and Agnes J. Gilpin. Feldon P. Rutherford, s/o John D. Rutherford and Nancy A. Baston Agnes J. Gilpin , d/o John Gilpin & Mary Karnes A brother of Agnes J. Gilpin, Charles W. Gilpin ,married Lavicie ‘Vicy" Stump who was the d/o Crockett Stump and his second wife, Virginia Tabor, Virginia Tabor was the d/o Daniel Tabor & Mary Martha Flummer. Aug 1873, In VA (All children b. VA), had had 2 children, wife .....Walter C., 2, b. Jan 1898, son .....Mirtle L. (sic), 1/12, b. May 1990 , daughter PEARL RUTHERFORD, 12, B. May 1888, SISTER-IN-LAW 1900 TAZEWELL CO VA CENSUS # 263, Jeffersonville Dist., W.E. Akers, enumerator FIELDEN P. RUTHERFORD (sic), 45, b. Sept 1845 in VA (All in home b. VA), farmer, marriied 26 years. .....Agnis J. (sic), 45, b. June 1854, wife, had had 12 children with 10 alive in 1900 .....Charley R., 18, b. May 1882, farm labor .....Nannie, 14, b. Feb 1886, daughter .....Luther C., 10, b. Oct 1889, son .....Minnie C., 8, b. Feb 1892, daughter .....Ethel M., 6, b. July 1893, daughter* .....Martin, 2, b. May 1897, son (Marvin) * The birth date for Ethel M. is incorrect as F. P. & Angie J. Rutherford had a baby boy that was born and died on the 16th of Feb 1893, In Tazewell Co., VA) ………………. DEATH: FLEM JONES FLEM ALEXANDER JONES, of Tip Top, died Wednesday after a lingering illness of several months. MR. JONES was born in Smyhte county, Vriginia, January 24, 1875, son of MR. and MRS. NATHAN JONES. He married MISS OLLIE MIRANDA GILLESPIE, August, 7, 1901. To this union were born, one son preceded him to the grave, four years of age. His wife and the following children survive; NATHAN JONES, Richmond, Va., GEORGE JONES, Cincinnati, Ohio, CARL JONES, of Cleveland; ROBERT, WILLIAM and WALTER JONES, all of Tip Top; MRS. STANLEY LEE BOWMAN, Tip Top; MRS. A. A. JONES, and ALA JONES, Jenkin Jones, W, Va,, All were present. There also survives two sisters, and three brothers, MRS. J. W. DEATON, of Pocahontas; MRS. SAM MACON, of Bluefield, Va., M, C, JONES, Springville; J. W. JONES, Reek, W. Va., and H. B. JONES, Baptist Valley. (I am not familiar with most of this family. However, Stanley Lee Bowman was the s/o Robert Bowman & Margaret Billips. Robert Bowman was the s/o Daniel P. Bowman & Christner/Christina Owens and Margaret Billips was the d/o Hezekiah ‘Kiah’ Billpis and his second wife, Serena Sizemore ?Serena’s name had been entered into records as Irena and other spellings.
