MARVIN O. SHRADER, son of MR. and  MRS. P. G. SHRADER, of North
Tazewell, a senior in Berea College was recently awarded the Louise
Veltin Memorial scholarship for the best all around citizen in the
graduating class.

Shrader entered the Berea Academy  six years ago, and two years ago
entered the college department. Shrader is chairman of the Virginia
State group, a member of the Y. M. C. A., a freshman swimming coach and
president of a Sunday school class

Shrader was chosen for the honor out of a graduating class of one
hundred and eleven by  (the) scholarship committee.

This is the first year the scholarship has been awarded.
