E. Buckland, from Falls Mills, was her Monday ruminating around. There are not many fellows of his type left in the country. (Buckland) Said he was talking to a traveling man the other day who gave him this one: A guest at the hotel gave the clerk a hundred dollar bill to keep overnight. The clerk had to send the bill to the grocery to buy goods, and the grocer kept the bill to square the hotel's account. The grocer paid the tailor the hundreed (sic) dollar bill on account. The tailor paid the drug store the hundred dollar bill for what he owed. The drug store paid the hotel bill for board, and next morning when the guest was ready to leave he called for his bill, which was turned over to him. He immediately tore it up stating it was a counterfeit bill.
