MRS. C. W. SLUSS, formerly of North Tazewell, but now of Princeton, W,
Va., sends the following letter to the News:

MRS. SLUSS is again at home after a visit to her children and
grandchildren, whose parents are PFC. ROBERT FREELAND of Hampton, Va.

Enroute to and from Norfolk and Hampton, Mrs. Skuss visited her sister,
Mrs. R. E. Hughes and her stepmother, MRS. J. C. CASSELL and family who
called at the home of her nephew, DAVID JONES, all of Roanoke. She
enjoyed worshipping in the Lutheran Church there, at Virginia Heights,
then drove on with DR. and MRS. ANDERSON to Holy Trinity, where REV.
PEERY was installed as pastor of that church. REV. MR. ANDERSON,
preached  a wonderful sermon concerning Paul’s charge in Timothy.
[Annie Ella Cassell was the wife of Charles Walter Sluss, Sr., s/o Rages
Maroni Sluss , Sr., & Nannie Atelia Litz. Rages Maroin Sluss, Sr., s/o
James Sluss & Clair  Rinda (name on tombston) Gouldy/Goldy/Golden. Annie
Ella Cassell’s parents were James Franklin Cassell & Christina
Groseclose. I do NOT know which daughter of C. W. Sluss & Annie Cassell
married  Robert Freeland].
