JOHN BORING, of the Elk garden Circuit commenced a protracted meeting last Tuesday night, and has preached at the Methodist church both morning and night since. He will probably remain several days longer. Mr. Boring is no stranger here amongst the older people. He traveled Jeffersonville Circuit about 1858, when it covered all the ground embraced in five of the present charges. He raised #300 for Missions, perhaps four times the amount reached before. The fruits of his former years are yet manifest-but in Heaven the preacher may be astonished at the work of his hands. [The rest of the article was not copied. I hope to get it later. Henry Jefferson Tabor & Sarah Ann/Adeline ‘Suzy’ Scott named one of their sons John Boring Tabor and he became a minister. Richard Adam Tabor & Mildred Permelia Shrader named a son after Rev. Edward C. Wexler-Edward Wexler Tabor. Rev. Edward C. Wexler was also a Circuit Riding Methodist Minister. Both ministers, Rev. John Boring and Rev. Edward C. Wexler, preached at the OLD Macedonia Methodist Church at Mudfork, Tazewell Co., VA where many of our Tabor ancestors, and related kin, knelt in prayer.
