Elswick Funeral Notice, 1966 - Tazewell Co. VA (Submitter note: This Funeral Announcement was taken from the Richlands News Press October 9, 1966, in the possession of Willy Shelton. *****Special Note the news article has Mr. Elswick's death date wrong according to my Aunt Rachel and his memorial card he died October 6, 1966 and funeral was October 8, 1966.*****) Funerals (Photo was included here in article) William K. Elswick William Kenneth Elswick, 44, of Richlands, died in a Richlands hospital Thursday Oct. 16 after a brief illness. He was a native of Tazewell, son of Mrs. Ella Frye Elswick of Marion and the late Hobart Elswick. He was a member of the Christian Church at Bastian, Masonic Lodge 206 of Bland, the Tazewell County Sportsmen's Club of Burkes Garden and was a graduate of Bland High School. He had lived in Richlands the past 18 years, where he was manager and co-owner of Elswick Grocery in the Lake Park section of the town the past 12 years. Survivors, other than his mother, include a sister, Mrs. Ralph Kidd of Bastian, and a brother, Garrett M. Elswick of Reliance, Va. Funeral Services were held Saturday at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands with Rev. Lee Ellis officiating and burial was in Hankins Cemetery at Richlands. Members of the Tazewell Sportsmen's Club were honorary pallbearers. Pallbearers: Leslie Ballard, Leslie Blankenship, Bruce Shufflebarger, Bill Farquharson, Harold Short, Jim Cassell, Roscoe Smith, Dr. Paul Quillen, Gillis Reed, Ben Keith and Russell Patrick.
