Tazewell Man Killed In Accident The traffic death of Donald C. Sayers, 23, of Tazewell, Va., killed near Bluefield, Va., late Saturday night, plus three other fatalities Sunday, raised Virginia's highway death toll for 1963 to 736, 24 more than the 712 at the same time a year ago. Sayers was dead upon arrival at the Bluefield Sanitarium shortly before midnight Saturday. State trooper D. J. Johnson said he was owner, operator and lone occupant of a pickup truck which went out of control as it approached a curve on Rt. 650 (Fincastle Turnpike) just west of Graham High School and went down a 185-foot bank embankment, overturning several times and coming to a halt in a field. Sayers was a son of Mr. And Mrs. L. C. Sayers of Tazewell. He is also survived by his wife, Mrs. Josette Pension Sayers of Bordeaux, France; a son, Christopher Donald Sayers of Bordeaux; two brothers, Douglas and Marshall Sayers of Tazewell; a sister, Norma Jean Sayers of Leesburg, Va.; and his grandmothers, Mrs. Eva Sayers of Canton, Oh., and Mrs. Josie Gillespie of Tazewell. The body has been taken from Dudley Memorial Mortuary in Bluefield, Va., to Greever Funeral Home in Tazewell, where funeral arrangements will be announced.
