Obituary of Stonewall Bowman - Tazewell Co. VA, Mercer Co. WV STONEWALL BOWMAN Stonewall Jackson Bowman, 91, of Rt. 5, Bluefield, died Friday in a Bluefield hospital after a long illness. Born in Tazewell County, Va., he was the son of the late Andrew J. and Sarah Nunley Bowman. He was employed by the Happy Valley Farm in Bluefield for 37 years, having retired last year due to ill health. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Paul McCormick, with whom he had made his home, Mrs. Erners Spangler of Defiance, Ohio, Mrs. Harry Lawrence of Princeton, Mrs. Fred K. Witt and Mrs. Ed Williams of Bluefield; three sons, Marvin Bowman of Virginia Beach, Va., Earl Bowman of Jacksonville, Fla., and Elmer Bowman of Bluefield; 41 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. at Mercer Funeral Home Chapel and Rev. David Sprinkle officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery in Bluefield, Va.
