Brescoach MAXWELL, Va. -- Carolyn Mangus Brescoach was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 12, 2003. She was born at Mallory, W.Va., and was a daughter of the late Ernest and Garnet Spears Mangus. She had made her home at Maxwell for the past 10 years and the Claypool Hill area for 14 years. She was a former employee of Clinch Valley Community Hospital, Island Creek Coal Co. at Keen Mountain,Va., and Sears in Richlands. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Chapel at North Tazewell,Va., where she was the pianist for the past 14 years. She was the widow of James J. Brescoach. She is survived by daughters, Mrs. Debbie Spencer of North Tazewell and Mrs.Terry (Deidi) Rose of Tazewell; brother, James D. Mangus and wife Bobbi of Ewing,Va.; and grandchildren, Nathaniel Spencer, Rachel Rose, Justin Rose and Tasha Rose. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. at Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel of Tazewell with Dr. Chuck Trent and Brother Jeff Stacy officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Va. Pallbearers will be Jeff Stacy, Rick Stacy, Mack Ratliff, Tim Rose, J.R. Hager, Charlie Patton, Nathaniel Spencer and Justin Rose. Honorary pallbearers are German Iosif M.D., J. Claustro M.D., Jose Piriz M.D., Jimmy Mangus, Michael Mangus and Frank Johnson. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday after 6 p.m. Hurst-Scott Funeral Home of Tazewell is in charge of arrangements.
