Brown RICHLANDS -- Mr. William Henry Brown, 63, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, in a Bristol Tennessee hospital following a short illness. Born in Tazewell County, Va., he was the son of the late Norvel Sr. and Virginia Lowe Brown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Herman Brown. Mr. Brown was a retired coal miner for Island Creek Coal Co. He was a member of the UMWA. Survivors are his wife of 28 years, Irene Shelton Brown; one son,William Edward Brown of Richlands; three daughters, Bernetta Mabe of Richlands, Sharon Renee Keen of Richlands and Melissa Carol Keen and husband, Andrew, of Connelly Springs, N.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Lawrence (Louise) Gilbert of Detroit and Mrs. Lorene Brown of Culpeper, Va.; four brothers, Norvel Brown Jr. of Claypool Hill, Andy Brown of Richlands, Larry Brown of Richlands and Curtis Brown of Richlands; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Jan. 19,. 2003, at 2 p.m. at Singleton Funeral Chapel in Cedar Bluff with Rev. Don McGregory officiating. Entombment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Claypool Hill. Pallbearers will be Allen Ashby, Andrew Keen, Daniel Keen, Benjamin Ashby, Anthony Ashby and Michael Shelton. Friends may call at Singleton Funeral Service from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Singleton Funeral Service is serving the Brown family.
