HATTIE COMPTON Deaths and Funerals MRS HATTIE COMPTON Funeral services will be held Wednesday evening for Mrs. Hattie Compton, 90, who died at her home at Shawvers Mill, Va., yesterday morning. Funeral services will be held at Kinser's chapel at Shawvers Mill at 3 o'clock, with the Rev. K. M. King, pastor in charge, assisted by the Rev. B. T. Sell and Rev. Paul Simms. Interment will follow in a nearby cemetery. Mrs. Compton was born in Montgomery county, Va., the daughter of the late T. H. and Elizabeth Kinser. She was married March 21, 1878 to the late G. S. Compton. She was a life-long member of the Methodist church. She is survived by four daughters: Mrs. H. M. Sanders, Princeton; Mrs. Nobia Phillippi, Wytheville; Mrs. T. E. Burton, this city; and Mrs. Fanny Brown Gibson, Bluefield, Va., and two sons: H. H. Compton, of Ashville, N.C., and W. R. Compton, Shawvers Mill, Va. She is also survived by two sisters: Mrs. Mollie Crabtree, Gratton, Va., and Mrs. Limmie Wilson, Rocky Gap, Va.; 19 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be: W. L. Shawver, John Neal, E. G. Purette, John Crabtree, L. A. Kinser, and Otha Gregory. Flower bearers will be her grandchildren.
