DEATH

Taborsville, Va., July 29
MRS. HIRAM COMPTON,, whose name has been mentioned in the NEWS as being
sick, quietly passed away last Wednesday morning, at 7 o’clock. Her
death was not unexpected as she had been confined to her room for
several weeks. That dreadful disease, consumption, was the cause of her
death. Mrs. Compton was a good christian lady, and she said she was
ready to die. She was a member of the Methodist church. The bereaved
husband and children have the sympathy of the entire community.

[Nancy Jane (Belcher) Compton, d/o Moses J. Belcher & Nancy Elizabeth
Jane Tabor who was believed to be either the d/o James Tabor &
Henrietta Blackwell  or Charles Tabor & Ellen Green. Hiram Alonzo
Compton, s/o Cornelius Compton & Rebecca Jane Patterson].
