Obituary of Peggy Louise Compton & Mrs. Della E. Crawford, 1966 & - Tazewell Co. VA These obituaries were taken from the Richlands News Press October 25, 1966, in the possession of Willy Shelton. Peggy Louise Compton Peggy Louise Compton, 17, of Honaker, Va., died Saturday afternoon, Oct. 22 in the University of Virginia Hospital at Charlottesville, following a long illness. She was the daughter of Mrs. J. E. Harris Jr., of Mojave, Calif., and was a student at Honaker High School. She made her home with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Compton of Honaker. Additional survivors include a half brother, Rodney Harris and a half sister, Carolyn Harris, both of Mojave. Mrs. Della E. Crawford Mrs. Della E. Crawford, 76, of Princeton, W.Va., formerly of Bandy, Va., died in a Richlands hospital, Tuesday morning, Oct. 25, after several months illness. A life-long resident of Tazewell County, she was a daughter of the late F. M. and Lovis Mitchell Elswick. She was a member of the Reynolds Ridge Church of Christ. Her husband William Y. Crawford her in death nine years ago. Survivors include five children: Mrs. Willie Pruitt, Mrs. Vida Altizer, of Bandy, Mrs. Lucille Coleman of Princeton, W.Va., Jess Crawford, Bandy, and Curtis Crawford, of Cleveland, Oh.: four sisters, Mrs. S. G. Swimm, Mrs. Ted Smith, and Mrs. Lula Evans, of Richlands, and Mrs. C. W. Boyd of Bristol, Va.; 25 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. from the Reynolds Ridge Community Church of Christ, with Rev. Conner Fox officiating. Burial in the Church Cemetery on Reynolds Ridge. The body was removed from the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home to the church Wednesday afternoon.
