TAZEWELL COUNTY, VA - OBITUARIES - Rev. David A. Daughtery, 23 Oct 1904 "Clinch Valley News’ Tazewell, Tazewell Co., VA Friday, October 28, 1904 REV. D. A. DAUGHTERY Falls Mills, Oct. 12- On last Sunday Morning the people of Taborsville was shocked and grieved , when the news came that REV. D. A. DAUGHTERY, of Falls Mills, was dead. He was well as usual when he retired Saturday night, and was found dead in his bed Sunday morning. He was buried in the Marrs grave yard. Monday evening at 4 o’clock, after a funeral sermon by REV. TYLOR FRAZIER. We do not hesitate to say that there never was a better man lived or died at falls mills than BROTHER DAUGHTERY. There could be a great deal more said, but we suppose the Falls Mills correspondent will give the full history. The above note was overlooked last week-Editor [Rev. David A. Daughtery, 1834- 1904, s/o John L. Daughtery & Hannah Peery who was the d/o James Peery & Ellen Dennis. D. A. Daughtery married Nancy L. ‘Nannie’ Moore, b. 1836, d/o John S. Moore and his first wife, Margaret Peggy’ Whitley. Margaret Whitley , b. abt 1803, died before 3 Oct 1853 when John S. Moore married Emily Shannon]. ADDED DATA : Regarding Rev. R. A. Daughtery’s in-laws: "ANNALS OF TAZEWELL COUNTY VIRGINIA" from 1800-1922, Vol II, page 502 John S. Moore (James, James, James), married Margaret Whitley, first wife, December 19, 1833. Their Children David Whitley, who married Jennie_____?____(children: Walter and two others ); Eliza, who married Robert Crockett; Nancy who married REV. D .A. DAUGHTERY; James; and Jack. John S. Moore married Emily Shannon, second wife, October 3, 1853.
