Obituary of G. A. Davis, 1966 - Tazewell Co. VA (Submitter note: This obituary was taken from the Richlands News Press September 18, 1966, in the possession of Willy Shelton.) G. A. Davis Glenn Albert Davis, 51, of Doran, Va., died Wednesday, Sept. 14, in a Veteran's Hospital, Mountain Home, Tenn., after a long illness. He was a native and lifetime resident of Doran, son of the late Alonzo and Maggie T. Davis. He was a retired mine inspector in Buchannan County, Va., owner of the Arcade at Cedar Bluff, Va., a member of the Richlands, Va., Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Masons in Roanoke, Va., Kazim Shrine Temple in Roanoke, Richlands Christian Church and was a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary C. Davis of the home; three daughters, Mrs. George Cox and Mrs. Dan Hughes of Cedar Bluff and Mrs. Bill Ball of Hansonville, Va.; three sisters, Mrs. Mildred Rhodes of Portsmouth, Va., Mrs. Muriel Livingston of Newport, Pa., and Mrs. Virginia Siegfried of Seattle, Wash.; one brother Paul Davis of Grundy, Va., two half sisters, Mrs. Jim Blott of Waldorf, Md., and Mrs. Betty Wood of Washington D.C; one half brother, Jim Davis of Waldorf; his stepmother, Mrs. Ellen Hartman of Waldorf; four grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Saturday at First Christian Church of Richlands with Rev. Kenneth Shearer and Rev. Charles Vaughn officiating, with burial in Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery. Masons were in charge of graveside services. Hurst-Scott Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
