He had not been in the community but a short while. "Clinch Valley News" Tazewell, Tazewell Co., VA Friday, July 9, 1937 DEATHS: FRED PUCKETT Death claimed FRED PUCKETT of Haysi, at Grace Richardson hospital Tuesday. He was the victim of a gunshot wound. He is survived by his wife. …………….. HARRY ASHBROOK HARRY ASHBROOK, 35, died Sunday at the Grundy hospital as the result of a gunshot wound, Ashbrook was a resident of Patterson, Va. He is survived by his wife and one daughter. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Abington, and burial took place at the Abington cemetery. ………………. BROTHERS DROWN Two brothers, WILLIAM FREEMAN, 18, and WEBB FREEMAN, 20, were drowned July 5 near Clintwood in Cranesrest river. The two brothers were drowned before assistance could reach them. One of the boys is said to have become strangled while swimming and both perished when the other went to his aid.
