Griffith CEDAR BLUFF -- Mr. Charles Edward Griffith, 68, of the Middle Creek section, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, at a Lebanon hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born in Richlands and was a son of the late William Albert and Mary Lowe Griffith. He was a life long resident of the Cedar Bluff area, was a 1952 graduate of Richlands High School and was a disabled farmer and construction worker. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Compton Shelton and Pansy Ball Rice; and two brothers, James and Wade Griffith. Survivors are one brother, Mr. Bill I. Griffith and wife, Norma of Rosedale Heights, Va.; special niece, Sue Griffith Snead of Rosedale, Va.; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. The family would like to express their appreciation to Bill and Barbara Sykes and the staff of Maple Grove Health Care of Lebanon, Dr. Ernest N. Henry and the third floor nursing staff of Russell County Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands with Rev. Vonley Pruitt officiating. Interment will follow in Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery in Richlands. Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands after 6 p.m. Monday.
