Hallin CHICAGO -- Mrs. Velma Goodman Hallin, 60, passed away Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002, in a Chicago hospital following a long illness. Born in Virginia, she was the daughter of Laura Robinette Goodman of Raven and the late Oda Goodman. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one sister, Jean Simmons; and three brothers, Curtis, Tom and Clarence Goodman. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, William Hallin of Chicago; one son, William (Butch) Hallin Jr. of Chicago; one daughter, Kelly Hallin of Chicago; mother, Laura Robinette Goodman of Raven, Va.; one brother, Clyde Goodman and wife Linda of Richlands; four sisters, Cathy Goodman of Raven, Bonnie Fields and husband Buddy of Lebanon, Helen Griffith of Swords Creek, Va.,. and Lillie Mae Walls and husband Buford of Luray, Va.; and four grandchildren, Shawn, Joshua, Cordale and Dedira Hallin. Funeral services will be conducted at the Modell Funeral Home in Chicago. The family will receive friends at the Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday. Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff is serving the Hallin Family.
