Born in Goochland, Va.,. he was the son of the late Bert and Ethel Shelton Lowe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Robert Lee Lowe and one half brother, Estil Joyce. He is survived by an ex-wife, Phyllis Joyce Asbury of Richlands; an ex-wife, Frances Holmes of Whitewood, Va.; two sons, Bobby Lowe Jr. of Whitewood and Michael Lowe of N. Tazewell; three daughters, Brenda Lee Hill of Swords Creek, Va., Barbara Lowe Vanhoosier of Horsepen, Va.,. and Glenna Assertine of British Columbia, Canada; one stepson, Daniel Proffitt of Short Gap, Va.; one stepdaughter, Melissia Davis of Rockville, Md.; one half brother, Doyle Joyce Jr. of Short Gap; six grandchildren, Randy Lowe, Jeffrey Lowe, Crystal Walls, Amanda Walls, Brandi Boyd and Kourtni Betcher; and two great- grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002, in the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff with Rev. Allen Click and Rev. Raymond Ferrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Simmons Family Cemetery at Red Root Ridge, Va. Pallbearers will be Daniel Proffitt, Donald Lowe, Lawrence Cantrell, Bo Priscilla, Dewey Tuggle and John Stanley. The family will receive friends at the Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff from 6-9 p.m. Monday. Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff is in charge of arrangements.
