Born on May 25, 1912, in Tazewell County, Va., she was the daughter of the late George and Dora Beavers West. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, T. Crockett Lowe; her son, Sherman D. Lowe; two grandsons; and several brothers and sisters. She was a member of the Yost Chapel Church at Baptist Valley. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Frances Colley and husband Don of Cedar Bluff and Mrs. Margaret Campbell and husband Jim of North Tazewell; four sons, Dewey R. Lowe, Charles E. Lowe, David C. Lowe and wife Mildred, all of Cedar Bluff, and David C. Lowe Jr. and wife Sheena of Lumberton, Texas; daughter-in-law, Juanita Lowe of Holly Hill, Fla; four brothers, Tom West of Texas, George West and wife Clara of Cedar Bluff, William R. West and wife Boots of Seymour, Tenn., and James West and wife Delores of Tazewell; one sister, Marian Benfield, Glen Burnie, Md.; 12 grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; special caregiver, Ethel Stumpp of Richlands; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, in the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff with Rev. Ralph Bostic, Rev. George Ed Hankins and Rev. Tommy Colley officiating. Entombment will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Claypool Hill, Va. Pallbearers will be Charles E. Lowe Jr., Jim Campbell Jr., Sherman D. Lowe III, Shawn Ross, Cecil Stumpp, Joe Baldwin, Fred Ross and Jamie Fields. The family will receive friends at the Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff from 6-9 p.m. Monday.
