TAZEWELL COUNTY, VA - OBITUARIES - Rev. George Mahood, 26 May 1937 ----¤¤¤---- "Clinch Valley New" Tazewell, Tazewell Co., VA Friday, June 4, 1937 REV. GEORGE MAHOOD Rev. George Mahood, age 70, a former citizen of Burke's Garden died at his home in West Graham last Friday following several months of illness. The funeral service took place in the Graham Methodist church Saturday, and was in charge of the Rev. E. H. Cole, an old aquantance (sic) and friend of the deceased. Many flowers indicated the esteem in which the former pastor was held in the community. There survives these children: Charence H. Mahood, of Bluefield; G. R. Mahood, of Winston, N.C.; Robert Mahood of Bluefield; Earl Mahood, of Roanoke; Lawrence Mahood, of Columbus, Ohio; Mrs. Orby Fuller, Roanoke, and Mrs. G. B. Maxwell, Falls Mills. These sisters also survive: Mrs. Mary Gillespie and Miss Sallie Mahood, of Tazewell; Mrs. Waddle Hankler and Miss Carrie Mahood, Rural Retreat. [Clarence H. Mahood, Sr., married Anna Bell Porter, Glen R. Mahood, m. Annie F. Nash a d/o Andrew Jackson Nash & Naomi John Summers. Lawrence Mahood married Eulah G. Harry, d/o Isaiah Henderson Harry and his first wife, Meldora Moore Tabor. [ Clarence Hoge Mahood, Sr., married Anna Bell Porter, Glen R. Mahood married Annie F. Nash, d/o Andrew Jackson Nash & Naomi John Summers, Lawrence Mahood married Eulah G.'Eula' Harry, d/o Isaiah Henderson Harry & Meldora Moore Tabor. I do not know the given name of Mrs. Orby Fuller or Mrs. G. B. Maxwell, however, from another obituary I know that Mr. G. B. Maxwell went by the name of Bates Maxwell].
