Kelly, Editor DEATH MRS. WITTEN CECIL and family have the sympathy of the entire circle of their acquaintance. Two weeks since MRS. CECIL was summoned to the bedside of her step-daughter, MRS. GEO. MAYS- who was a citizen of Giles county. MRS. MAYS died. Last Sunday night CORNELIUS MC GUIRE, the father of MRS. CECIL died very suddenly, at MRS. CECIL’S residence. MRS. CECIL was telegraphed to return but no answer was received; and it is probable the telegram did not reach her in time if at all- till her father was buried. MR. MC GUIRE was one of the oldest, and most respected citizens of the county- a true man in all the relations of life. [Cornelius Mc Guire, s/o Rev. William McGuire & Margaret Brown. Tazewell Court House, 1886-1892, was later named Tazewell, Tazewell Co., VA]. Karen EAGLE Moman arizonaeagle@qwest.net April 2002
