Meade RAVEN, Va. -- Mrs. Rosie Juanita Meade, 76, passed away Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002, in a Richlands hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born in Russell County and was the daughter of the late Lacy and Carrie Shannon Kiser, both Russell County natives. She had made her home in the Raven area most of her life and was of the Pentecostal faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary McCowan. Survivors are: her husband, Mr. Fred Meade; two sisters, Mrs. Lois Hubble and husband, Tom of Castlewood and Mrs. Mae Robinson and husband, Garland of Dante, Va.; one brother, Mr. Doris Kiser and wife Tobie of Honaker; two grandchildren, Regina Holbrook and Sherrie Phillips; three great-grandchildren, Amaris Phillips, Isaiah Phillips and Chantel Williams also survive; and one son-in-law, Darrell McCowan of Abingdon. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Nov. 25, 2002, at 11 a.m. at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands with the Rev. Clarence Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Va. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
