She was born in Richlands and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Cordle, both Tazewell County natives. She had made her home in the Richlands area all of her life and was a member of the New Hope Assembly Church in Claypool Hill, Va. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Junior A. Ball; and several sisters and brothers. Survivors are: three sons, Mr. Bill Thomas Ball and wife Deborah of Holly Springs, N.C., Mr. James Harold Ball and wife Sherry of Richlands and Mr. Bobby Ray Ball and wife Susan of Lebanon; one sister, Mrs. Josephine Reynolds of Richlands; one grandson, Mr. Timothy Ball; and special care givers, Jane Musick, Tonya Horn, Jamie Anders and Sabrina Ball. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, at 2 p.m. at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands with the Rev. Claudie Throgmartin and Rev. Rick Cole officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Va. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
