Newberry CEDAR BLUFF -- Mrs. Laura Wyrene Newberry, 86, passed away Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, in a Tazewell hospital following a long illness. Born in Tazewell County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Dave and Bessie Taylor Baldwin. She was a homemaker and was of the Holiness faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dailey R. Newberry; three brothers, Junior Baldwin, Clint Baldwin and Kenneth Baldwin; one daughter, Ruth Newberry; and three sons, Jackie Newberry, Harvey Newberry and Floyd Newberry. Survivors are four daughters, Nancy Keen and husband Tommy of Richlands, Norma Burke of Cedar Bluff, Lilly Hunnell and husband James of Paintlick, Va., and Wanda Hunnell and husband Sammy of Richlands; two sons, Freddy Newberry and wife Ruby of Richlands and Alan Newberry and wife Peggy of Richlands; sister, Mollie Adair of Richlands; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003, at the Bible Way Church in Raven, Va., with Rev. Danny Short officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Va. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the Bible Way Church, Raven, from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
