Osborne CEDAR BLUFF -- Mrs. Artie M. Osborne, 91, of the Baptist Valley section died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bernice Mash, following a lengthy illness. She was born in Tazewell County, Va., and was a daughter of the late Will and Ida Wyatt Ball, both Tazewell County natives. She was a lifelong resident of the Cedar Bluff, Doran and Richlands areas and was a former nursing assistant at Mattie Williams Hospital. She was of the Holiness faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Harmon Osborne; two daughters, Doris Jennings and Beatrice Short; one son, Bill Osborne; two sons-in-law, Walter Jennings and Burford Mash; one sister, Molly Boyd; and two brothers, Arch and Avery Ball. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Bernice Mash of Cedar Bluff; one son, Mr. Steven Osborne and wife, Connie, of Falconer, N.Y.; daughter-in-law, Joan Osborne of Swords Creek, Va.; son-in-law, Gene Short of Rising Sun, Md.; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Ray of Raven, Va., and Mrs. Lola Newberry of Pine Creek, Va.; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and several great-great- grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, at 4:30 p.m. at Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands with Rev. Roger Monk and Rev. Jerry Welch officiating. Interment will follow in Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery in Richlands. Grandsons and relatives will serve as pallbearers.
