Pruitt MEADOWVIEW -- Mrs. Rosella Hagerman Pruitt, 89, formerly of Raven, Va., went to be with the Lord Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. Charles (Joy) Rampley at Meadowview. She was born in Jolo, W.Va., and was a daughter of the late John and Rhoda Muncy Hagerman, both McDowell County, W.Va., natives. She had made her home in the Raven area most of her life and was of the Church of Christ faith. Mrs. Pruitt will be remembered most as a loving, caring mother who always brought her family together and kept them close. She is also remembered by many as a special friend and caregiver. She was a certified nursing assistant and cared for many people. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Robert Howard Pruitt; two sons, Curtis Leon Pruitt and Delmer Pruitt; grandson, Joseph Wayne Bland; great-granddaughter, Ashley Danielle Shortridge; five sisters; and four brothers. Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Joy) Rampley of Meadowview, Ms. Wanda McGlothlin of Akins and Mrs. Herbert (Thelma) Justice of Flint, Mich.; two sons, Mr. Elmer "Bud" Pruitt of Raven and Mr. Estel Carl (E.C.) Pruitt of Raven; one sister, Mrs. Alifair Kennedy of Jolo; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a host of nieces and nephews; and a multitude of friends also survive. Special thanks to Dr. McGarry, Dr. Wallace, Total Home Health and Hospice of Southwest Virginia in Abingdon, Betty Hagerman and Marie Beach. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 3 p.m. at Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands with Rev. Grady McGlothlin and Rev. Charlie McGlothlin, special friends of the family. Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill. Pallbearers will be Greg McGlothlin, Matthew Pruitt, Randy Pruitt, Steve Pruitt, Jeff Justice, Stoney Hale, Christopher Webb, Jonathan Webb, Aaron Bland, MitchWarner and Marc Socey. Honorary pallbearers will be sons-in-law and grandchildren-in-law. Friends may call at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands after 6 p.m. Sunday.
