Obituary of Harvey Puckett - Tazewell Co. VA HARVEY PUCKETT’S BODY DISCOVERED The body of Harvey Puckett, abut 40, was found in an old springhouse near Falls Mills, Va., yesterday beside a shotgun apparently used to take his own life. Deputy Sheriff A. K. Harvey said Puckett had been missing from his home since Wednesday morning. The body was found by the dead man’s brother about 1 p.m. yesterday. Dr. P. P. Ferraraccio, a Tazewell County coroner, said Puckett apparently committed suicide and there were no indications of foul play. Harvey said Puckett, once a truck driver but then unemployed, had been despondent and had made statements indicating he contemplated suicide. He was unmarried. The victim had been living about a half mile from the scene of his death on Mud Fork near the Falls Mills dam. The body was found by his brother, Solly Puckett of Falls Mills. Harvey said the 12 guage shotgun found beside the body belonged to the dead man. Besides his brother, Puckett is survived by two sisters. The body is at Wagner and Hawkins Funeral Home, Bluefield, Va.
