Scott BLUFF CITY -- Orrin P. Scott, 80, 896 Timber Ridge Road, died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, in the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital following an extended illness. A native of Bluefield, Va., he was the son of the late William H. and Virginia Tickle Scott. He was preceded in death by his wife, Callie Nelson Scott; two sons, Edward Joseph Scott and Gary David Scott; three sisters, Nancy Routh, Eula Alvarez and Leona Lee. Mr. Scott attended Lick Creek Christian Church and was a truck driver for Mason-Dixon Lines for 39 years. Survivors include three daughters, Virginia Anne Brennan, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.,. Pamela Scott Hoss, Bristol Virginia, and Betty Jean Hinkle, Bluff City; one stepdaughter, LaWanda Nichols, Palmetto, Fla.; a special friend and companion, Helen Eytchison, Bluff City; two brothers, Charles Scott, Elizabethton and Elmer Scott, Johnson City; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home with Mr. Joe Veeder, minister, officiating. Graveside service and interment will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Charles Cole, Dr. Jeff Farrow, Dr. Mark Williams, Dr. Fawwaz Hamati and Gary Edward Sams. Those who plan to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:55 p.m. Thursday. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers, may make donations to Lick Creek Christian Church, 1172 Piney Flats Road, Watauga, TN 37694.
