DEATHS

W. A. SCOTT
WILLIAM ARMISTEAD SCOTT, age 87 years, died last Saturday at his home
on Fincastle Turnpike.

Mr. Scott was a native of Charlotte county; a son of SAMUEL and FRANCES
WATSON SCOTT. He worked in Lynchburg for several years and then moved to
Tazewell as one of the earlier settlers in this community.

He entered the wholesale grocery business at North Tazewell as his first
business venture. The building was destroyed by fire in 1920. After the
he constructed a bottling plant known as the Wascott Corporation.

There survives his widow, MISS LUCY BUSTON, and the following children;
MRS. A. P. MC KENRY of Alexandria, Va.
MRS. H. V. LANCASTER, of Farmville
MRS. R. C. DIEDRICH, of Rutherford, North Carolina
MISS DOROTHY SCOTT, teacher at Hurley
MRS. GRAT M. BOWEN, of Tazewell
MISS SAMMY SCOTT, of Tazewell

Mr. Scott was a senior deacon in the Tazewell Presbyterian church.

Services were conducted Monday afternoon from the Presbyterian church
and burial was in Jeffersonville cemetery.
