Kelly Smith, Jr., 1998 Kelly Smith Jr., 72, of Richlands, died Oct. 27 at his home following a lengthy illness. He was the son of the late Frank Kelly and Pearl Mae Casey Smith, both Tazewell County natives. He was born in Salem, but spent most of his life in the Richlands area. He was the owner and operator of Smith Lawnmower Repair in Richlands. He attended the Pentecostal Holiness Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Steve Allen, and Bobby Wayne Smith, and one sister, Nadine Casey. Survivors: wife, Delcie Dye Smith; daughters, Wanda Shinault of Salem, Linda Camp of Port St. Lucie, FL; sons, Donald Smith of Butler, TN, Roger Smith of Roanoke; sisters, Mary Harding of Statesboro, GA, Patsy Spicer of Roanoke, Willie Woods of Beauford, SC; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The funeral was conducted Oct. 30 at 2 p.m. at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands with the Rev. Ralph Horton, Rev. Phillip Horton and Rev. Edward Dalton officiating. Interment followed in the Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill.
