He said that he never remembered taking God’s name in vain. He will be greatly missed by his many friends. He leaves to mourn his loss four children, MRS. PEERY, of Baptist Valley, MRS. PAUL, of War, W.Va., ROBERT YOST, of Bluefield, W.VA., with whom he made his home . Funeral services were held at the home and burial in the family cemetery. A poem followed the obituary but I did not get it all: " Former friends, O, how I’ve sought them Just to cheer my drooping mind: But they’re like leaves in autumn, Driven before a dreary wind, Spring, and Summer, Fall and Winter, Each in quick succession roll, Lo, dear father, in death do enter Bringing sadness to my soul." [ I had first thought this was James Yost, s/o John "Captain" Yost & Martha Karnes, however, I am now not certain. Perhaps, someone will recognize their ancestor].
