EARL J. BOWMAN, son of MR. and MRS. CLARENCE BOWMAN, of North Tazewell, were married last Saturday evening in the Presbyterian church, DR. T. A. FREEMAN was the officiating minister. MRS. E. M. WHITE, of Bluefield, aunt of the bridegroom, was organist and presented a program of nuptial music and accompanied MRS. FANNIE LOUISE TRENOR, of Bluefield, Va., vocalist. On Mrs. White’s program were "Song to An Evening Star," "To A Wild Rose," by Mc Dowell, "Intermezzo" and "the Lord’s Prayer." During the ceremony Mrs. Trenor sang "Because" and "Always." Carrying a hand bouquet of white orchids and lily-of-the valley, long streamers caught with lily-of-the valley, the bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a dress of sheer marquisette, worn over a white satin slip. The dress neckline was a set in yoke of marquisette dropping with a ruffle to the shoulders, a tight fitted bodice and long sleeves with deep ruffles over the hand. The full skirt was made in rows of deep ruffles. A pearl necklace was the only ornament worn by the bride. Her finged tip length veil of imported illusion was attached to a headpiece of imported lace and lily-of-the-valley entwined. MRS. WILLIAM WALTER THOMPSON was matron of honor and her daughter, Martha Thompson, was junior bridesmaid. Mrs. Thompson and Miss Thompson wore identical dresses of white organdy over starched yellow slips. The dresses were fashioned with low necklines, finished with a short ruffle bearing garlands of hand-painted black eyed susans. The full floor length skirts were scalloped at the hemline and caught with a black velvet bows and sprays of black-eyed Susans. RONALD T. MILLS, of Bishop, was best man; W. W. THOMPSON, brother of the bride, was head usher and W. W. THOMPSON, JR., junior usher, Other ushers were CLARRENCE BOWMAN, brother of the bridegroom and C. M. MILLS, JR, of Bishop. Following the wedding a reception was held at the country club. MRS. CHARLES GREEN, MISS HELEN O’KEEFFE, and MRS. C. H. PEERY III officiated at the punch bowl and MRS/ D. M. THOMPSON and MRS.
