STEPHENSON-HOWARD

Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Margaret Stephenson,
daughter of Mrs. V. L. Stephenson and the late V. L. Stephenson, of
Tazewell, to Mr. Eugene Lee Howard, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Howard, of
Honaker, Va.

The wedding took place at Kingsport (Sullivan Co., TN) on Thursday,
August 21, 1941 (sic).

Mrs. Howard is a graduate of Tazewell High School and State Teachers'
College at Radford and for several years has ben (sic) home economics
teacher at Lebanon High Schol (sic).

Mr. Howard attended West Virginia Business College in Bluefield and is
now stationed at a flying school in Texas (WW II).

[Vonner L. Stephenson,15 July 1864-2 June 1942, s/o Harvey C. Stephenson
& Virginia E. Sweeney. Vonner L. Stephenson was first married to Luvica
Ann Bowling, d/o Lindsay Bowling & Rutha Mae Burnett. V. L. Stephenson ,
after the death of Luvica, married Nannie Walk, d/o Van Walk & Amanda
Jane Matthews whose brother, Charles Wesley 'Wes' Matthews, lived to be
102, and was a "CSA" Civil War veteran. Children of the first marriage of
V. L. Stephenson were: Birdie C., Mattie T., Andrew P., Alice T.,
Charles and  maybe Garland. Garland might have been a son of the second
wife. The age is too close for me to decide which is the biological
mother].
