Tazewell Co., WB 3, page 222 shows Jarret Bowling's will: I Jared Boling do make my last will and testament as follows. 1st I give & devise all my land to my son Wesley & my daughter Nelly in fee simple. 2nd I give & bequeath to my daughter Polly Gose two hundred dollars to be paid out of my personal estate. 3rd I give & bequeath the rest & residue of my property to my said son Wesley & my said daughter Nelly. 4th I do appoint S.W. Higginbothim Guardian of my daughter Nelly until she attain the age of 21 years or marry 5th I do also appoint the said S.W. Wesley Boland, son reported death. Virginia: At a Court for Tazewell County held at the Courthouse the 29th day of January 1857: The last will and testament of Jared Boling deceased was this day produced to the Court and Joseph Stras one of the subscribing witnesses to said Will came into Court and being duly sworn saith taht the said Jared Boling signed sealed and acknowledged the said will in the presence of him the said Joseph Stras and James W. Thompson the other subscribing witness thereto present at the same time and that they, the said Joseph Stras and James W. Thompson subscribed their names thereto as witnesses aforesaid in the presence of the testator and in the presence of each other and thereupon the said Will was ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of S. W. Higginbotham the Executor named in said Will who took the oath prescribed by law and together with William Barns his surety executed and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of six thousand dollars with condition according to law, which was approved by the Court. Certificate is granted him the said S. W. Higginbotham for obtaining probate of said Will in due form. Test R. P. Spracher D.C.
