Norfolk Journal and Guide, June 11,1960
Funeral services were held Wednesday at Big Piney Grove Baptist Church for 
Mrs. Ida Barton of 4120 Everett street, who died June 4 at her home after a 
long illness.

A native of Princess Anne county, she had been in Norfolk 19 years.  She was 
a member of Big Piney Grove Church.

Surviving are three sons, John and Elijah Barton of Norfolk and Joe Barton 
of Portsmouth;  three daughters, Mrs. Dora Simmons of Baltimore, Mrs. 
Virginia Dixon of South Norfolk and Mrs. Rosa Dunston of Norfolk;  three 
sisters, Mrs. Mary Dozier of Princess Anne, Mrs. Anice Smith of Brooklyn and 
Mrs. Cora Closson of New York City;  and two brothers, Henry and Willie 
Fields of Brooklyn.

Burial was in Piney Grove Cemetery.  Morning Glory Funeral Home handled 
arrangements.
